Northland Investment Corporation: Business Systems Analyst II

Responsible for supporting a wide range of business systems applications including our core property management software such as Yardi Suite, MRI, RealPage, Nexus, Power BI, Smart Rent, among others. These applications are used by both corporate employees and employees in over 80 locations in more than 14 states. The process of supporting and resolving issues related to these applications involve gathering information from users through our service portal, email or by phone.

Specific duties include:

  • Troubleshoot IT application issues and provide resolutions for support tickets within our ticketing system, Fresh Service, within a dedicated time frame.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to identify their business needs, collect project requirements, desired outcomes, and develop business documentation, as well as strategize and execute project steps.
  • Engage with internal team, and as needed with external vendors and service providers to meet business requirements; establish integrations with our systems, and provide ongoing support for active processes.
  • Validate and analyze data using analytical and visualization tools like Power BI dashboards and Excel spreadsheets, craft SQL queries, and develop multiple dashboards based on the gathered business requirements.
  • Identify gaps within current processes, explore alternate solutions, and participate in their implementation to drive process improvement.
  • Update application versions following user testing, documentation, and experimentation with new features, which includes documenting trial steps and educating and presenting the benefits of the new updates to relevant teams.
  • Attend and participate in conferences, events, and training sessions to educate and share knowledgebase with the team on topics relevant to both ongoing and future projects.

May telecommute part of the week from commuting distance to Newton, MA in accordance with the company’s flexible working policy. Occasional Training and Conferences may be required offsite.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related field plus 3 years’ experience in an information technology position. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field, plus 5 years’ experience in an information technology position.

Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently. If qualifying based on Master’s degree, experience may be gained before, during or after master’s degree.

  • 3 years of experience working with key industry-specific application providers such as MRI, Yardi, RealPage, Nexus, or PowerBI;
  • 3 years of experience working as a member of multiple project teams concurrently;
  • 3 years of experience working with and/or providing oversight to external IT service providers;
  • 3 years of experience working with application environments comprised of both internally and externally hosted applications.
